Nude Hues: Christian Dior S/S 06 RTW
“Nude – this season that’s all you need to know,” says John Galliano. It’s a contemporary vision creating a new allure.”
Spring/Summer 2006 at Dior is all about understated sexy. Dior’s contemporary nude palette is given the Galliano touch with the spirit of Argentina and the construction of couture. Highlighting cut and quality, the spring season’s nude hues are clean and crisp. Strong, confident and sensual – the inspiration starts with raw design details, as the ready to wear silhouettes became streamlined.
With jet black beading, draped nude chiffon and silk, degrade and denim, printed lace and layering – this collection is about ease and focusing on the essentials. Shapes are graphic and clean and stripped down to nearly nothing. Hems are raw and deliberately distressed.
The nude look dominated the S/S catwalks, but none did it better than Galliano who’s gritty attitude collides with Argentinean exotic to make for an ethereal finale with knots and twists in sculptural shapes.
