La Perla Brings Lingerie Principles to Elegant Outerwear
La Perla, known for its status as one of the most elegant lingerie houses in the world, also combines that same elegance with sexiness in its clothing line. La Perla’s Fall 2006 Ready-To-Wear collection showcases a woman’s form with leaving just enough to the imagination.

An evening pantsuit is alluring because of its hip-hugging pants and luxurious fabric. A sheer sequined and satin top has ornamentation in all the right places, and its geometric shapes balance the flowing pants. Two small black spaghetti straps give the hint of a bra when the model is obviously not wearing one. If ever in doubt of a good time to let those straps peek through, take a cue from La Perla.

A corset bodice paired with a black satin bow around the waist and a shiny gray knee-length skirt with black floral designs is very feminine. My favorite piece in the collection is a blue day or evening dress with black accents. Again, a spaghetti strap peeking out purposefully on one shoulder leaves an onlooker thinking… “I wonder…” The baby-blue color contrasts nicely with the black, and the breasts are accented by triangular cuts on the bodice. Classic peep-toe stiletto pumps brings back some of that 1950s Marilyn Monroe glamour.

Finally, a gown perfect for any ball or debutante’s prom brings to mind Cinderella at her finest—after she marries Prince Charming. The black mesh over greenish gold is dark and enticing for such a classic young style—a corset with a billowing full skirt.
