Burberry Retains Classic Styles, Patterns for Fall

Yes, we all know the fact Burberry means classic plaid. Where else can you go for plaid that won’t get you laughed at or accused of liking that blast from the ’70s past a little too much?

For example, the deep browns contrasted with white in Burberry’s skirt looks like a professional but flirty choice for fall or winter when paired with black tights and shiny black pumps. And of course, with a plaid skirt, a solid colored sweater is a must. If it is in the same color family as the skirt, that is a bonus, but Burberry makes wonderful warm matching sweaters with its skirts and pants.

A flapper-esque dress is a little on the verge of a faux-pas because of the woollen fabric, but a woman’s figure is key in making this work. Long and lean is a must. The model just looks a little too cute for words in the white beanie snow cap, and the black belt cinching the dress at the waist surely saves the outfit from a major style disaster. But there is much to be said for Burberry’s pants and coats.

A rabbit trimmed coat mixes just the right colors and length to keep ladies warm and chic in the coldest of climates. The double-breasted look is 1950s classic—this is a coat to complete any collection.

A pantsuit and capri pants work so well for the season, especially when the capris are paired with tights to keep any skin covered from the elements. The dark pantsuit combines black and purple in a great office outfit, and the capris could just be seen on some starlets at the film festivals (Toronto, perhaps???) this season.

At any rate, Burberry and plaid just can’t go wrong together…
