It’s a Mirror-acle!

Admit it. You’re a bit of a narcissist. From your computer’s screensaver (you in Agent Provocateur) to your ring tone (“I Know What Boys Like”) to your license plate (FXY-LDY), you’re your number one fan. So, when Gucci introduced it’s latest line of accessories- heels and handbags bedecked with triangular mini-mirrors- you were first on the list. A collection of suede platform sandals, tasseled hobos and chrome-plated clutches, they’re the first fashions that let you take a look at your sexy self while catapulting your already-stellar style. And, just think- you can finally get your Tom Ford shades back from your friend; she never stood still long enough for you to apply your lip plumper anyway.

Until this season’s ready-to-wear showings, clear accessories could be found only in establishments called Scores or Crazy Horse. But, thanks to such high fashion frontrunners as Pucci, Chanel and YSL, there is a window of opportunity for the designer-clad and fully-clothed set to sport the transparent trend. From the Lucite-and-patent-paired platforms at Dolce & Gabbana to the luxe, leather-trimmed totes at Fendi, today’s see-through extras are surprisingly chic and not-so-surprisingly sexy. Just remember- when matching sheer shoes to a peek-a-boo bag, keep your small bills stashed in a wallet. You wouldn’t want to confuse anyone.

As seen on Pursed Lips, the Mulberry Emmy is being named a new IT bag, but we’re not moved to such adoration that magazines plus Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Scarlett Johansson might have for it. Like many, I feel it’s too boxy for I to like it, yet I do favor the cute red version. The bag does have nice detail, such as the pocket and flap designs, and I do like the dogleash-clipped straps (but for me, they’re strictly-as-a-rule not meant to be made longer).

Basically, at $1,195 (available at Net-a-Porter.com), it’s all well and good, but has too much hype.

A different kind of buckle adorns this Fendi Selleria Hobo. It’s a one-side square buckle that sits atop a Fendi logo ribbon woven through the design. From the limited edition collection, this bag speaks luxury in every detail. Making this bag “worth” its $1,430.00 pricetag is the Fendi plaque with unique I.D. number.

Marc Jacobs channeled Chanel’s feminine flair to hit the “Marc” with this IT-with-sass&class purse. Talk about trends! Velvet quilting & a velvet ribbon winding through the classic chain shoulder strap. It’s slightly un-Marc, and questionably over-Coco, may she rest in peace with this sight. To me, as one who adores this lovely accessory (as I do Chanel), I find it honors her.

The price? It doesn’t make quite that statement at a too affordable $198! Oooooooh, I’m teeemmmmmmpted!

It embodies exactly the personality I like to dress in, but with all the other purchases I’ve recently made, especially on designer bags, this still requires a lot of thought.

Such is the drama of the handbag obsession; whether the price be too high or quite low, we risk blowing our bank accounts, with the latter, it comes with a brimming closet, as well.

Certainly, an argument can be made for such a deal; precious style, semi-precious cost.

About the layout…

It is created to be looked at by the lovely Firefox. I couldn’t get it the same for IE, but it’s acceptable. Because of that it isn’t even how it was originally intentioned. Peoples, the Internet Explorer is not safe for you to browse with!

I took the idea of shoes and handbags that compliment each other from inspiration by the fashion blog, Coolchiq. Thank you! Our theme will not change its pictures, but I will add skinnable styles soon. It takes a while to set a theme up, and I spent a lot of time getting this one just so. Other script bug fixes took a while, so this is opening up later in the day than planned.

This style features shoes from the bedazzled-detailed designer Lozzi, and the handbag is from Lucchi.

What can I say about these exquisite pieces? The Lozzi Jeweled Metallic Purple Leather D’Orsays practically speak for themselves, just view the picture. The Lozzi shoes are not so expensive that the richness in style does not make up for it. I would very much encourage saving up a little and then spending freely on a fabulous shoe from this Lozzi!

And the handbag from Caterina Lucchi is a mix of sturdiness and quaint elegance, with lizard embossed genuine leather. Its unique strap is adorned with a sparkling rhinestone and will be the perfect accessory of style and function. It is dainty, to fit in the gala-attending lady’s hand, and affordable, I say, at $85 dollars.
